Rice oil as health backing “an underutilized resource with very high development value” is a comment of the United Nations Industrial Development Organization on rice and rice embryos. It is a high-end oil species and consumes 80,000 tons of rice oil each year, accounting for about 3.5% of the total edible oil consumption. Of the various foods made of rice, the Japanese prefer rice oil, which is considered to have better cooking taste and nutritional health. In particular, in the 1950s, the Japanese scientific community discovered the unique composition of rice oil and named it as oryzanol. More and more researchers are focusing on the nutritional value of rice oil and evaluating rice oil in an all-round way.

Break through the technical bottleneck

Industry changes are just around the corner. Due to limited production capacity, 60% of China's edible oil raw materials depend on imports, making it the world's largest oil importer. Due to the limited area of ​​arable land, to solve the dilemma of shortage of oil products, expanding the planting area of ​​oil alone cannot fundamentally solve the problem. Developing rice oil is a feasible way. Professor He Dongping, executive director of the China Institute of Cereals and Oils and executive vice president of the Oils and Oils Branch of the China Cereals and Oils Association, stressed that China is a big producer of rice and has the natural advantage of promoting rice oil.

Professor Fengfeng Feng from Shanghai Research and Development Center of Fengyi International deeply feels that this is true. He said that due to technical limitations, the utilization rate of rice bran in China is still less than 10%. However, this technical problem has been overcome. As a pioneer in scientific and technological innovation in the national grain and oil industry, Jinlongyu devoted itself to the development of the rice recycling economy model as early as in 2006, creating a new rice oil production model of dispersion, preservation, concentrated leaching, and centralized and refined “one decentralized and two centralized” production. Although we currently have only 10% utilization, there is 90% room for development. “The miraculous rice oil, real gold in oil”, and the agricultural science and technology innovation road which is based on the recycling economy of Yihai Kerry, not only has great potential in China, but also opens up broad prospects for China's grain and oil industry innovation.
