Health and Planning Commission: Recognizing the importance of breastfeeding

“Society should pay attention to, care for, and support breastfeeding from all aspects,” said Zhang Shijun, director of the Department of Maternal and Child Health Services of the National Health and Family Planning Commission, at the 2013 World Breastfeeding Week theme promotion campaign.

August 17, 2013 is the 22nd World Breastfeeding Week, with the theme “Support Breastfeeding: Close to Mothers”. It aims to promote social and public understanding of the importance of breastfeeding and supports breastfeeding.
