According to Gizmodo, details and images of Fitbit's two new sports monitoring devices, Charge and Charge HR, have been leaked.
In February of this year, Fitbit had 2% trial user feedback that skin discomfort occurred a few weeks after wearing the device, when they first mentioned the company's next-generation device.
According to the leaked promotional materials, the new device can monitor all the conditions that the company can track, including steps, distance, calories, climbing stairs, sleep, and more. Both devices can also provide a silent alarm clock that causes the user to wake up while displaying the user's status. Charge HR also has new features to monitor heart rate.
Few wearable motion monitoring devices monitor heart rate. This summer, Boston company Whoop raised $6 million to develop wearable monitoring devices to measure heart rate. Then in September, Apple released iWatch, which uses built-in accelerometers to monitor motion while using optical detectors to monitor heart rate.
Fitbit's Charge and Charge HR are expected to sell for $185 and $220. Recently Fitbit, priced between Apple iWatch ($349) and Basic Peak ($199).
Recently, Fitbit revealed that it has no intention of integrating into Apple's HealthKit platform. If the leaked news is true, Fitbit's Charge HR will rival Apple's iWatch's health sensing features.
