Parasitic disease in sheep - intestinal tuberculosis

1. Pathogen The pathogen of this disease is estuary nematode. Its larvae are often sent to the colon of the large intestine to form nodules of varying sizes. It is called a nodule. The female lays eggs in the gut of the sheep, eggs are excreted with the feces, and the larvae are hatched under appropriate conditions. The larvae develop into infectious larvae and climb on the blades of grass after 20 days of development. When the sheep graze, they ingest the larvae and become infected. 2. Symptoms When the larvae enter the intestinal wall to form nodules, the intestine of the sheep is narrowed, the intestines become inflamed or ulcerated, causing diarrhea in the sheep, and sometimes feces is mixed with blood or mucus. Anorexia, weight loss, anemia, gradually weakening death. When the larvae return to the intestine from the nodule, the above symptoms will gradually disappear, but often show intermittent diarrhea. 3. Prevention (1) In the spring and autumn of each year, the insects are deterred with a net of trichlorfon or insecticide. (2) Trichlorfon treatment. 50-60 milligrams per kilogram of body weight, dubbed as aqueous solution, once fed. (3) net insecticide treatment. 10-20 mg per kilogram of body weight, once orally, or 5% intramuscularly in water solution, 10-20 mg/kg body weight. China Agricultural Network Editor
