CT scans can only answer some of the patient's questions, but it is time-consuming and costly to seek other doctors to continue the diagnosis. In response to this problem, Israeli start-up Zebra Medical Vision has developed a new machine learning platform that provides patients with the next step in CT scans.
According to Zebra, the online software called "Profound" can read data from CT scans, analyze information and generate medical reports with an accuracy of up to 90%.
The algorithm-based Profound software is based on data from a large number of anonymous patients from hospitals and clinics around the world, and is dedicated to detecting and analyzing specific diseases. Using this data, Zebra created an open platform for imaging data algorithms to change the way doctors diagnose and treat diseases. The company said the platform is unique.
Zebra CEO Elad Benjamin said: "For example, if a patient goes to the hospital because of chest pain, he will specifically check for chest pain. The doctor will only look at specific symptoms to find out the cause. But there are always some conditions. This method is not found, and they often don't have time to do a comprehensive diagnosis for the patient."
The company aims to break the long-standing barriers in the medical community, enabling millions of users to quickly and accurately obtain accurate CT image analysis at home.
Benjamin said that users around the world can use the service automatically and freely on the Profound website. At present, osteoporosis, breast cancer, fatty liver, heart disease, coronary artery calcification, compression fractures and aortic aneurysms are diseases that can be automatically detected by software. Soon, Profound will add other algorithms such as mammography.
